Global indices
A live technical rating — momentum and trend distilled into a single gauge — for each of the major indices: S&P 500, Nasdaq, Dow and Ibovespa.
Technical rating
S&P 500
Nasdaq Composite
Dow Jones
Ibovespa
An index bundles many stocks into a single number that represents a whole market or segment. The S&P 500 tracks the 500 largest US companies, the Nasdaq leans technology, the Dow follows 30 US blue chips, and the Ibovespa is the benchmark for the Brazilian B3.
Watching indices side by side tells you the market’s overall mood — risk-on or risk-off — which is the backdrop every individual position trades against.
How to read it
- Each gauge distils dozens of momentum and trend indicators into a single Strong buy → Strong sell reading for that index.
- Use the interval tabs to switch the rating between timeframes (e.g. 1 day, 1 week).
- A buy rating on a broad index points to a risk-on backdrop; a sell rating signals caution — use it as context, not a recommendation.
How to use it with ForecastingStocks
- Check the index backdrop before acting on a single-stock forecast — even a great company struggles in a falling market.
- Compare the Ibovespa and S&P 500 to decide where the momentum is between Brazil and the US.
- Use the technical gauge as one input among several, never as a standalone signal.
